Steven Zaborowski - President, Treasurer, Service Chair Pledge Class 52 My name is Steven Jan (pronounced like Yawn) Zaborowski but the only people who call me Steven is my family but all my life I have been called Zaborowski, Zab, Zabbo, Zabster, Zabby, and the list goes on but in college it is mainly Zaborowski. I was born on November 22, 1985 in Houston, Texas in Memorial Hospital. Even though earlier-a month- I made a plane have an emergency landing because my mother and a doctor on thought my mom was going into labor but alas I just wanted the plane to land faster. I did not talk till I was three years old because I had an older sister who liked to do the talking for me. I spoke Japanese before I spoke English because I went to preschool with many little Japanese children. I also communicated with hand gestures such as if I needed ice cream I would tap my tongue with my index finger but now people would say I talk too much and my excuse is that I am making up for lost time. In the first grade I made the great move to the safe and crime free city of Memphis, TN. I lived there for about eleven years. There I grew up on great pork BBQ, blues music, Motown, the song “Walking in Memphis” and famous Memphis rap coming from the lips of Three Six Mafia and 8-Ball and MJG. I learned the joys of classic rock from my family and the magic of jam bands- including Phish and moe- from my friends in TN. In TN fun was driving around the town and going to the mall but not going into Memphis unless you go to an exciting Memphis Redbird’s game. I was very involved in my Presbyterian youth group and we would go to Montreat every year and one time at Church camp my whole youth group except for three of us got picked up by the cops for being out passed curfew. We also caused many problems by I then moved back to my real home- Texas- my junior year of high school and ended up at Austin College because it felt right (and when I mean right I mean they gave me the most money). Austin College has been perfect for me and I am the Vice President of Student Assembly which is a glorified title of just making sure people do there job and slack off. |
